Doesn't it feel good to step on crunchy frost now, instead of the slush and mud that's been on the ground for the past month and a bit?
I'm definitely enjoying it, even though I don't like winter...global warming is really starting to scare me

Other than the weather, there isn't much to say about the goings on in my life
School has started up and I already hate it. My classes are soooooo boring, and I just can't seem to get into school mode. My break was definitely way too short!
Speaking of the break, my new year's was a good time. I worked until about 10ish, then went down to Absinthe with Mikey, Christine, Chris and his friends. It was surprisingly packed, and they played good music. There aren't many highlights of the night for me...except that I was glad Michael made it out, because he usually works new year's eve.
A few girls from school started this website www.thegalvanizelab.blogspot.com where they post pictures of cool spots in Hamilton, trying to make it seem like a much more lively and cultural city, rather than a dirty, industrial hole (like I see it). Anyway, we made it on the site haha

Wow, it's been a while since I've been on here! But I, like many others, have been more obsessed with facebook recently than with livejournal. Does anyone even read this anymore? I don't know, but I thought I'd update anyway. I hope everyone had a good Christmas! I went to Mikey's for Christmas Eve dinner, but I was sick so I couldn't enjoy it as much as I wanted. I had an insanely stuffed up nose, and I had to keep getting up from the table to blow my nose, and that was pretty embarassing. Then, he gave me a Tylenol cold, but we didn't realize that it was Nighttime, so I got drowsy on top of everything haha. I couldn't even taste the food. Christmas day I felt so much better though, so I was happy about that. The most exciting gift I got from my parents was a digital camera! I can't wait to take a ton of my own pictures when I go out now, instead of always bothering my friends to send pics to me haha.
That night I got together with Nina for our gift exchange and that was fun!
Other highlights from the break so far:

- shopping at Square One for boxing day. It was pure insanity. People were honking at each other in the crowded parking lot, in the stores people were throwing clothes on the floor as they looked through piles of stuff....there was such hostility! I actually had an unsuccessful shopping trip....i bought like one shirt, I just couldn't bring myself to sift through the mess other people had created.

- Sam's Jack Astor's Christmas party! We got to dress up and eat good food and drink wine....but I couldn't stay too late because the next day I had my first exam (which went so badly....no one finished after 3 hours...I don't want to think about it)

- going on a double date to Absinthe with Mikey and Christine and her boyfriend Chris a few weeks ago. I went there last Wednesday again with Christine, Emily, Kandra and Christina and made a fool of myself trying to parallel park in front of the building while everyone stared and laughed at us haha.

- Terris' party where I saw all of Corey's friends....definitely brought back some memories that I didn't necessarily want to relive again. Thankfully Corey himself wasn't there because I don't even know what I would say to him if he was
Afterwards, we checked out the Embassy, and let me just say it was an experience. I had a laugh, but I won't be going back there again

- getting together with Sam at Starbucks to exchange presents and having a good talk

- seeing Casino Royale and Blood Diamond with Mikey

- dressing up all Christmas-y at work for a contest. The most festive person gets $100 bucks! The winner will be announced at our Christmas party (on January 17th! how random) I tried to go all out, but there was always someone with more than me, so I know I didn't win for sure, but it was still fun

That's really all I can remember. New Year's is coming up and I have no definite plans as of yet. I know I have to work but til when I don't know. Hopefully not too late!
I also really need to get going on the whole application process for next year. I just don't know if I should wait until all my first semester marks from 4th year are in...but that might be cutting it too close to the deadline. Ugh, I don't know. Why does it have to be so complicateddddddd

I can't believe school is almost over.....I still have an essay due ugh. And my exams are so spread out. Like always, my last exam is on like the last day of exams.....I NEVER get lucky and get finished early. poooo

Other than school and work, I had a pretty good week last week! in addition to the Hour taping, on Wed. mikey and I went to the cutest restaurant in Burlington called Olivé on Brant. I highly recommend it. It's italian, but the building itself is circular...and instead of chairs you sit in these huge antique couch things. It was really cool...and the food itself was amazing but not expensive at all!

Thennnnnnnn on Thursday I finally got to visit Nina and see her new place! That was quite exciting :) We met up at Starbucks, had a good time catching up, then like right after we got approached by this OCAD student who was doing a project on eyes so he got right up in our faces and took pictures of our eyeballs. it was so weird hahah. At first I got excited because I thought he was some photographer from a magazine doing one of those segments where they take pictures of cool dressed people on the streets......but i was sadly disappointed haha

OH YA! in starbucks, we saw Amanda Bynes! she walked in and got a coffee by herself...she kept looking over at us and i totally caught her eye once or twice

That night, Jenni came down, and we all went to this bar/club called The Brunswick House. Some pictures now because all text is boring!

I had such a good time. i missed just hanging out with nina! I so want to live in toronto next year.....i wish i wasn't so broke though. It's actually impossible for me to save money. I am striving to get everyone really cool gifts this year....which inevitably leads to spending tons of money! but I don't care...I'm in a really giving mood...i'll worry about finances after the holidays haha

in other news.....yesterday our class went on a field trip to the CBC building to see George Strombolopolous' (sp?) show The Hour! He is so nice/hot haha. He hung out with us in between commercials, told us some funny celebrity stories...and at the end we all took pictures with him like geeks but i don't care haha
then we went out for dinner with my teacher and her husband...at first it was AWKWARD CITY!! but after a while it was actually pretty fun
then we did a bit of shopping, but i didnt end up buying anything
i just got off work a little while ago, now im off to go shopping again, hopefully i have some more luck this time!

tomorrow i have a group presentation and no one bothered to ask our teacher for a projector which we NEED
not to mention, our presentation is worth 30% of our mark....oh boy

also, i am so excited to go to sleep tonight...my mom bought me a new duvet, a new fluffy pillow (my old one was so FLAT it's like it didn't even exist) and i got new pyjamas that are nice and warm.

life has been pretty busy
finished 3 essays in a week...still have 2 more to go, but i think it will be ok
nothing tooo exciting has been going on other than that
friday went to absinthe....the racket was playing for this charity to raise money for families living with cancer
this girl actually shaved off her hair! it was pretty intense...it was so sad because her dad was there and i think he had cancer....he was looking at her with such pride i was almost going to cry
afterwards we went downstairs where justin wood was DJing! he always has the best beats haha.....that was the highlight to my otherwise stressful weekend with school and work taking any free time i had

completely unrelated....i watched this documentary the other week about these kids who live in the Red Light District in India and all their mothers are prostitutes just to make ends meat.....and that is the harsh truth for many of the little girls living there. This photographer from England was taking pictures in the District and met the kids and basically fell in love with them. She gave them cameras and taught them how to take pictures.....and submitted them to this photographer's convention, and they liked one boy's pictures so much that he got to go all the way to Switzerland for the convention! it was so cute.....the English photographer even helped all the kids get into some sort of a shcool, since almost NO school takes kids from the Red Light District. At the end though, you find out that almost all their parents pulled them out of school because they are too poor and they need these like 8 year old kids to work.
How unfair is that....these kids have been given an opportunity that no one else will give them and their parents had no choice but to take it away from them just so they can make enough money to survive.

it really puts things into perspective.....

an attitude change is needed....life is too crazy/unpredictable/short to stress about certain things, advice i definitely need to take.....worrying too much is so draining. especially since there are people out there that are suffering with way worse problems... i should be enjoying lifes ups and downs and try to make the best of whatever comes my way

just some thoughts...

i don't think i'm going to be fired from work anymore (i hope i didn't jinx myself). My managers aren't as mean to me....so who knows, at least i'm not afraid to come to work anymore lol

last week, i went to toronto with christine after school for a few hours to shop....we made it halfway down Queen st. before having to head home. I really want to finish exploring all the cute shops along that whoooole street, especially since i didn't even buy anything!

These next two weeks are going to be so busy and stressful for me....and i know i should be buckling down and working on my essays, but i CANNOT CONCENTRATE NO MATTER HOW HARD I TRY

i miss so many people right now, it is ridiculous

i have concluded that i love my counter-cultures night class. Even though my teacher is a 40-year old punk with a lipring, and gives us wayyyyyyy too much work for a class that is supposed to be an elective, she is actually SO passionate about subcultures it's kind of fun being in her class. A few weeks ago, we were talking about punks and being rebellious, and she even suggested we storm another class to be disruptive and "fight the system"
we didn't end up doing it because everyone was too scared to, but hilarious nonetheless
Last night, this girl did a presentation on the most RANDOM subculture ever...the "juggalos", or, those who are obsessed with Insane Clown Posse music. HAHAHA...she brought in three of these extreme fans....and yes, they really do exist. They say that other "juggalos" are like their family, and stick together no matter what. Reading about subcultures sticking together like that is one thing, but seeing REAL people doing it is just surreal. It was like a cult or something haha

All Coldplay songs are so good, I will never get sick of them

plans for next year are taking over my thoughts:
teach in japan for a year??? (i don't think i could handle a full year, but the money is supposed to be amazing)
work in europe for the summer?? (get my grad trip out of the way, AND make some $$$)
apply to sheridan and humber for PR....but if i got accepted at humber, will i be able to afford living in Toronto?? I hope my sister gets in to Ryerson so we can live together...perfect situation because our parents will help us out a lot, and their won't be any friendship-ruining fights if we get sick of each other, like what might happen if i lived with a good friend

Hope everyone had a good Halloween

(haha my hair is falling out...and i can't resize my pictures)

Chelsea, Nadine, Carrie and I all went to Kingdom for Halloween on Friday. Saw a lot of old friends there, as always. Even saw TOM (who remembers him?!) hahah actually i would rather not remember that momentary lapse of judgment. I had a good time....there were some crazy creative costumes which is half the reason i love going...people always get so elaborate. For example, every year there is always this guy with a huge robot costume that is so real looking, with lights and wires and everything.
Some other guy was dressed up as steve irwin, complete with stingray piercing his heart.....um, a little too soon man
On Sunday we went to Fearfest at Wonderland! i have never laughed so hard in my life! It was me, Chel, Mallory, Carrie, Steph and Christina who went....most of the rides were open, but didnt have any lights on!!! so we rode the rollercoasters in the complete darkness....it was definitely an experience haha. I will never forget mallory leaning over to me as we're going up that huge wooden coaster and whispering "Final Destination 3" AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH i could have killed her haha
There were also a ton of haunted houses and mazes we went through...they were creepy! people jump out at you and chase you and everything is so dark! sometimes tho you can tell that the ghouls and goblins are so obviously teenagers in makeup, and it would be funny...but they NEVER cracked a smile! I could never do it....they must have incredible control
Anyway the funniest thing by far was going through this one maze and it was very scary with heads hanging from the ceiling and stuff...and all of a sudden we enter this room with strobe lights and DANCE MUSIC, and there was this girl, obviously a wonderland employee but with no costume, just her uniform...and she was dancing! so we all danced with her for a bit then left that room...and we were right back to all the scary stuff. WHAT?!?!?! HAHA how random was that room?? why was she dancing? so weird how there was such an uncharacteristic room in the middle of a haunted maze!! hahaha

Last night, mikey and i saw SAW III. I have seen the other Saws on halloween, so i figured i might as well continue with the tradition...and well it was the worst one of course. it even left in a cliffhanger suggesting a possible Saw 4?! enough with them already, please. Also, we saw these parents bring their daughter who was probably like 8 to the movie....how irresponsible can you be?! it was one of the most gory and gross movies i have ever seen...i can only imagine how traumatized that little girl must be

...and that is how i spent my halloween

p.s continuing with the whole spooky theme......the past 2 nights, i have been having very clear dreams about cats that i have known but are now dead. I had a dream about mikey's grandma's cat that was just recently put down...but it was alive and playful in my dream....then i had a dream about my old cat Tabby...also alive and well in my dream. The dreams were so centered around them...so i cant help but think it must be a sign for something...but what! so weird. well maybe not, but i was definitely freaked after waking up haha

This weekend was spent doing homework again, except for Kingdom on friday night, haven't been there in a loong time. Work is getting better...that bitchy manager isnt QUITE so bitchy anymore (i think she got in trouble for a lot of the things she's said). i'm off to watch Gene Simmon's Family Jewels now.....byee

I AM SO GLAD THIS WEEK IS OVER
I have had 3 essays due, plus a midterm....all in 4 short days
but that's all over now, i couldn't be more happy
although, November 16th i have 2 major essays due, a final project, AND a group presentation!!!
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....definitely have to start working on that shiot like now!
school is so stressful right now, i felt like just breaking down and crying at several times last weekend

Enough about that though,
what else has been going on with me? Went to niagara falls for me and mikey's anniversary. We were going to go up the CN Tower, but at the last minute changed course for niagara haha....pictures on that soon, im just too lazy to put them up on photobucket right now
Last weekend I did nothing but work pretty much, at Turtle Jack's and on homework
We had a work meeting SO early on Saturday morning, and that lasted for a while. Afterwards, a bunch of us went out for breakfast at the Egg & I. I don't like thinking about it though, because just a few short days later (on wednesday), my good friend Alisha GOT FIRED FOR NO REASON!!!!
I'm going to rant now, so please excuse me....but this really bothers me.
So we got this new manager a few weeks ago (she's not even the general manager, just food and beverage), anyways.....she's really psycho and is obsessed with the rules that none of the other manager's really cared about. So it's kind of difficult to work with her, because she is very anal and takes everything so seriously.
So she's always had this negative thing towards Alisha, saying she should be blond and has no common sense (because once she had asked her what to do when shes closing)....umm excuse me, but we all havent worked at restaurants before...and on the training manual it says to ASK if you don't know something. This new manager really makes that difficult, because she is definitely not approachable.
So ya, on sunday Alisha and I worked together...and everyone was having a bad day. Food wasnt coming out on time, this girl Danielle had FOUR tables walk out on her! There was a lot going on. Alisha had a table who got really angry that their salads didnt come out as appetizers....so long story short the manager had to pay for their meals AND give them $100 gift certificates to please them ( i think that's a little extreme but that's besides the point). The manager on duty promised Alisha she wouldn't get fired over that...it wasn't even her fault! The kitchen was so slow that night...anyways, sure enough, Wednesday rolls around, the new manager hears what happened on Sunday, and since she doesn't like Alisha, blew it way out of porportion and Alisha was fired. No warning, no nothing! And she's been working for more than 3 months, i think it's illegal to fire someone after 3 months without a warning...well that's what someone at work said anyway.
Now i'm so scared to go back to work tnight....I haven't worked since then, and that same day the new manager got sooooo mad at me too. I worked during the day, and it was so dead at one point. This guy came in, ordered something, i rang it in, and then he changed his mind. The kitchen had already made his food so quickly because he was literally the only customer, but since he changed his mind, they were going to have to throw it out. So there's this new rule that we have to pay for food if we made a mistake. I understand that....but this was not my mistake! The customer changed his mind! But of course, the new manager made me pay for that....full price even tho i said i was going to eat it for lunch, and if we order food during our shift, we get half off...that is a rule too!!! but noooo.....she was a bitch about it and i had to pay for the entire thing. No other manager makes us do that..so everyone told me to talk to our other nicer manager...so i did, and apparently the new manager snuck behind me and listened to while i complained about her!! I am so scared, im definitely on her bad side now............gonna have to watch my back! i dont want to lose my job over something so stupid.....ugh

Nothing else new is going on...it was mikey's birthday on Wednesday, and we just went to this Japanese place in burlington for dinner on Tuesday, it was so good.....i also tried a slab of raw fish...oddly enough it didnt taste too bad! hahah.....oh and, EVERYONE must go see the Life Aquatic....i watched it and fell in love with the movie haha

Hope everyone is having a Happy Thanksgiving weekend! We usually go to this big potluck with Bulgarian friends, and i didn't think that they were having one this year...but apparently they are tonight! when i have to work all night so i can't even go! thanks guys

Ah well.....this weekend has been pretty fun so far, even tho i'm getting NO homework done and i have things due when we go back to school
Thursday, Sam and I went to our school's bar, Quarter's for Melissa's bday!! I haven't seen or hung out with Melissa in sooooooooooo long so getting the Soo/Loo/Moo gang together again was nice hahah
not to mention me and sam haven't gone OUT out together since school started! so ya i had a really good time! Sam and Mel picked me up from my night class, and we hung out at Melissa's friend's house before heading out. There were a lot of first years haha, and by the end of the night our feet were killllllling us, i could barely walk let alone dance haha

Last night was hilarious too...we went to Republik in TO for christine's bday! Our friend Emily (from Panama City trip fame) runs this business called the Party Express, which is basically this school bus that picks people up and drives them to Toronto clubs, then picks everyone back up again at 2:30ish....a lot later than the GO busses run so it's pretty popular apparently. The bus also blasts music and you are allowed to smoke and drink on it if you want, and for $20 bucks you get a ride there and back and free admission in the clubs....not a bad deal!
(gross) highlight of the night: christine's friend sarah had to pee really badly on the bus on the way there, but we couldn't stop...so she just peed in a plastic bag!!! and there was so much liquid in there! it's like when u buy fish and they give u that bag full of water....yeah....then she threw it out the window and it hit a car!!! everyone got really mad at her cuz the bus driver started yelling haha
oh goodness......afterwards christine and i had this huge thanksgiving dinner from her leftovers when we got back home....i ate so much! why oh why can't i control myself haha

Also...last Friday, me and christine went to the Casbah to see our friend's band play....check them out at www.theracketmusic.com !! They are reaaaaalllly good. I have an innocent crush on the lead singer too haha
jeff and shane and all them were there too...shane is making another movie and he keeps saying i will have a speaking role in it this time, but he's kind of all over the place so u cant really trust anything he has to say haha

then on saturday, i went to nina's sister, jenni's, birthday partay at her house! nina, chris, and owen were there among others...we had quite a long, and intense at times, game of monopoly haha....nina moved into her new home in yorkville and i'm excited to go visit and seee it! sometime soon hopefully!!

The wedding was really cute, except it was a traditional Polish/Ukranian wedding, and apparently it's customary to stand for almost the entire thing?! haha i could barely see the bride and groom...but then finally we were allowed to sit, which was a good thing because my feet were really beginning to hurt haha

After the ceremony, we all went home, got changed, then mikey's grandparents picked me up for the reception at this winery in St. Kitts. It was soooooooooo nice, complete with gigantic fountains out front, cute little covered bridges and such. I'm sad we didn't get to take many pictures outside....this one is of me as soon as i got in the car, michael just randomly decided to take a picture of my face

we sat with his other cousins as well, but most of them were either under 16, or over 26. Rosia and Justin were the only ones our age and they ended up being really cool so that was good!

The reception was open bar(!!), and since it was at a winery, they had such a huge selection of wines! loved that.....i've been starting to become a huge fan of wine lately haha
The dinner was this AMAZING 5 course meal.....then a delicious dessert buffet at the end of the main course........omg i was soooooooo stuffed after

luckily, there was dancing!! the DJ played some wicked old school michael jackson and stuff, which is always fun to hear haha

oh man, his family is crazy...there was of course the one uncle that gets super drunk and doesn't know what he's doing. in this case, it was uncle Ted....who came over to our table to chat...and then tried to MAKE OUT with me!!! no jokes....and everyone was just like "oh ted!"...meanwhile im trying to escape his death grip.......soooooooooooooo random and weird! he was like 45 and had a wife sitting at the next table! hahaha

Also, they had these gorgeous tall skinny vases with a rather unique looking flower as our centerpiece, and mikey said usually they have some big contest where each table competes to win it. i was so excited cuz i really wanted to win! but it never ended up happening...people began to just take them as they were leaving....once me mikey rosia and justin left our table for a bit, and came back it was gone! one of his other cousins took it...those bitches! hahaha....so by the end, we made mikey's grandparents steal one off someone else's table for us....but mikey gave it me YAY! now i don't feel sad about not catching the bouquet !

anyway those are pretty much the highlights from the wedding...it was good times and i'm so glad i finally got to meet his extended family who i've heard so much about

other than that, haven't been doing too much. The wedding was the only exciting thing i did on the weekend, the weekend before that chelsea, christina, our friend jen and i went to that new club in Niagara Falls called DragonFly.....i loved it! a gay guy told me i looked like the girl from the pussycat dolls and i loved him for it hahaha
yesterday, i was bored, so mikey came over with an activity for us to do, which was draw each other a picture...he brought all these art supplies it was so cute :)
i also had this huge presentation to do yesterday, and our stupid prof didn't show up to clasS...instead we had to present to our TA who does NOT know how to speak english. clearly she didn't get any of our jokes.....who knows how she marked us haha

yes, i watched an episode of "Gene Simmons Family Jewels" today
and yes, I have a crush on his son
who is probly only like 18, but i dont care...he's hot hahah
Gene, on the other hand, really bothers me
so on the episode i watched, he did this thing where he got to spend a day with his biggest fan, who was like some 45 year old man who was OBSESSED with KISS
and all he did was talk about them the whole time and how much their music helped him get through life and all that
meanwhile, Gene barely talked to the poor guy, and seemed REALLY annoyed that he knew all this personal stuff about him
and he was even creeped out that the guy had all this KISS paraphenalia (sp?!) in his house
now, i know the show is edited to death to make it seem that way, but still! Gene could be a little bit more appreciative, i mean this guy and others like him are what made him rich!!

I should be in bed because i have a 9:30 class tomorrow morning, but i keep tossing and turning.
School's getting so busy these days....and it's only september! not feeling that at all
anyways, i want to get something off my chest, so i can sleep soundly like a baby haha

for those of you who don't know, mikey and i decided to go on a break. for many different reasons. mainly because of me. i randomly get mad at him so easily and it got to the point where it was like almost every day. and that to me is definitely not a healthy relationship to be in. So, we decided it would be best to seperate for a while, gather our thoughts, before it escalates into anything worse. The day before we went on our break, we got together one last time.....just in case it should be our last as boyfriend and girlfriend. i had such a good time with him. we rented Elf and School of Rock, both really funny movies, kept the mood light and fun. I didnt want to end things after our night was over but we both knew it was for the best
Anyway, we've been trying to steer clear of each other....but man is it ever hard! We have talked on msn a few times, and the conversation always felt really forced. that broke my heart. we have been best friends forever, and to think that breaking up might drift us apart was sad. but i think that was because we didnt want to say the wrong thing to each other....we said we wouldnt say things like "i miss you" or whatever. so our conversations became weird and awkward because we were so careful of being "normal."
I, for one, couldnt get him out of my mind. this break is a good thing for me, because i can see things in perspective now. i DO miss him, i DO want to be with him. I really thought about it, and part of what made me so overwhelmed in our relationship, and what drove me to bitch at him all the time, was the feeling that he may not be "the one"
i thought about it, and who cares?? I'm 21, do i really need to be thinking about who is the One right now anyway? no, not really.....why can't i just live in the moment and be happy with what is going on RIGHT NOW?

we finally had a big talk today...mikey and i....and he basically poured his heart out to me. he definitely has a way with words...and can make me feel so special..it made me feel really guilty for treating him the way i have. i realized he loves me, he cares about me, he can make me laugh, he knows me inside and out, and i love being with him. There is no reason i should give that up just because there might not be a future together down the road. I have accepted that he may not be around forever as my boyfriend....but he will always be my friend...and i shouldnt get so scared about getting hurt later on. that's life....people break up.....no sense in stressing about that now
his cousin's wedding is on saturday......it's going to be our "date" haha......plenty of time to think things over further

ok i have rambled on quite enough. i do feel a bit better. i hate school for making everyone so busy that i have to resort to getting my feelings out through lj instead of having a heart to heart with a friend...which is what im craving !

film festival, pictures, birthdays, love

first off, i would like to wish nina a very happy birthday today!!!

on friday, i went down to Toronto for a little celebration. We decided to check out the festivities outside the CHUM building, for the international film festival. The security guard we talked to lied to us and said beyonce was going to be coming haha. We ate some spring rolls while waiting with chris, then nina and i assumed our positions in the crowd, trying to push our way up to the front. We managed to get 2nd row, then later nina found an opening at the very front and took it, while i got yelled at by some spanish woman for pushing her because she was apparently pregnant?! first of all, if you know you're pregnant, why stick urself in the middle of a large crowd where ur stomach is going to be pushed up against a railing no matter what?! some people, i swear.

Anyway it was a tiring and long wait. We saw the StarTV ppl rehearsing, and they also tricked us into believing that people like jude law and BRAD PITT were going to be there! In the end, Samual L Jackson was the biggest celebrity that showed up, along with Eugene Levy. Birttany Snow also came (the loser who showed up first!) and me and nina saw her get really embarassed because barely anyone cheered for her HAHA

It was so cool! it was open till 3am, and for like 9 bucks it's all you can eat meat. the bring out all this raw meat, like chicken, beef, fish, etc and you grill it right in this built in grill at the table! that was fun times. Then carrie, nina and i went to a bar for drinks and stories. I had a really good time that night :)

last night my lovah came over after work with the game of trivial pursuit, GENIUS edition!! i discovered that i'm really not that smart haha

today sam and i went shopping for a bit....i finally bought a pair of flats! i've been needing those forever
oh ya, and i dyed my hair over the weekend as well. i'm back to black baby!

it's so late and i'm still awake.

I'm barely going to be working this week, which is ok, since last week they had me on almost every day...opening and closing and doing double shifts and the whole lot

last friday i went to hess with chelsea and a bunch of friends. we got into sizzle, then her controlling boyfriend called and he was at Funky, and since it was his birthday, chelsea just HAD to go right away....so we went and it was boring, as i absolutely hate funky. i pretty much danced by myself the whole night, because no one else would!

saturday night i went to a party at christine's house. it was her sister's birthday...plenty of drinks and food and good times went down

sunday went to nina's! we hung out for a bit....loved her presents with all the awesome DVDs! i can finally start a collection now!
then later, chelsea, vince, and i went to a bbq at steph's house for her birthday (damnnn so many bdays in so few days!)
i totally forget what went down sunday night....monday mikey and i went to the mall, did a little shopping...been hanging out lots with him and things have been going great! until yesterday when i snapped at him and we didnt talk all day today.....but we're cool now, no need to worry haha

then it was work work work for so long.....on wed. i believe, sam and i finally managed to get some time off and got together to eat lunch at turtle jack's and then wandered around limeridge till we both had to go to work
she gave me my present as weel....a cute tshirt and this heart necklace that i adorrrrrrrrrre!

afterthought: i want to start dressing a lot more fashionable this year. i feel like i don't take enough risks when it comes to clothes
i bought a pair of skinny jeans...didnt think i'd ever look good in them but i really really love them. i wear them ALL the time now....i almost don't want to go back to regular jeans haha....i'm thinking i need to buy a few more in different colours. anyway i'm kind of going off on a tangent....my point is: take more risks with fashion this year...because i tend to stick with safe choices.....i want to not care about what people think as much, perhaps go back to my middle school mentality, when i wore whatever the hell i wanted and thought i was cool (omg REMEMBER my spice girl jacket??? metallic with fur on the collar and the sleeves? HAHAHA)

AAAAAAAAND i think im done. this weekend was alright. went to hess (diavolo's) one last time this friday with christine, kandra and sarah. Had a good time, saw allen watts and julien from way back in the day! it was way too cold for my liking tho. Saturday was a shitty day...just stayed in and watched movies with my sister, like the Motorcycle Diaries and Rushmore (major crush on Jason Schwartzman by the way)...and today i just worked.

so yesterday me chelsea vince nadine and steph went to WONDERLAND!! My tradition still lives.....i have been every year sincegrade4 (except for that one unspeakable time in grade 11 haha)
anywho it was a really fun time!
we actually managed to pretty much go on EVERY RIDE
but then it got really late and we stupidly wanted to leave the BAT (my favourite roller coaster) and Drop Zone till it got dark, but by the time we made it over there the lineups were still way too long and the park was almost closing so we just went home :(
i didnt get to go on the bat!! nooooooooooooo
scary thing tho: i don't think i can enjoy rollercpasters like i used to anymore. i NEVER used to feel dizzy on rides, especially not coasters. BUT yesterday i was SO dizzy after most of the rides!! it felt like i was gonna like blackout or something on the loops. wth....i wonder why....but it really sucks because i absolutely love rollercoasterssssssssssss
highlights from the day include nadine talking about sex incredibly loud every time we were in line, chelsea belching like a fiend and people kept staring HAHA, me and vince going on the swings and doing hilarious poses, schooling a bunch of pre-teens in line cuz they were being mean to one of their friends lol, andddd getting a DVD of me and vince going on Top Gun together! HAHAHA it actually tapes the whole experience from start to finish! we went on when it was getting a bit dark so its not THAT clear but we kept making faces for the camera it is the funniest thing i have ever seen
i miss vince! we dont get to hang out as much anymore, but every time we do it is nonstop laughs haha

my brother and sister also had a party last night, but this time managed to keep everything extremely under control. i didnt even have to yell at anyone once, AND i managed to get a good nights sleep because people werent being rudely loud in the middle of the night. i'm glad, i was tired of dealing with that EVERY time my parents go away

also, on tuesday mikey and i went to toronto to go to my meeting with that talent agency which i was an hour late for hahah, but no one minded thankfully.
i dunno about that....it doesnt really seem legite. i was researching and almost everywhere says that agencies shouldnt ask for fees upfront, but this guy wants me to pay like $250 for a registration fee, plus so much more money for headhsots and a prtfolio and whatnot. Don't they just pay all that for you, then take cuts off your pay once you get a job!?
i dunno, this stuff is pretty foreign to me, but we'll see
afterwards, we went out to eat at this place called Peter Pan Bistro, which had yummy food
we also sat at starbucks for a bit hoping to catch nina before she got off work, but we never saw each other aha...even tho she was there!
another day....nin we need to hang out again at least once before school starts!

he was a little sad that he couldnt drink, but he's not much of a drinker anyway (although i saw him drinking a few beers in the club tsk tsk)
we met up with nina, chris and ryan down there...thank goodness we found each other like right away!
we didn't even find qwasi, and we never ended up getting our vip room with the champagne, or get to see any of the Yo Mama stuff but i had so much fun dancing so i didnt mind!

i also went for that audition in burlington on friday and they want me to go to their toronto offices for a meeting! that is exciting

- and the lowlight of the week: getting into a pretty serious fight with him last night. we went to tim horton's for a good couple of hours and talked about ALOT of things that we don't really bring up....and ya i think we will be o.k. i hope !

my birthday is this friday!! i'm excited :) Although i really don't want to be turning 21. Why oh why does time fly by so fast?? I can remember my last birthday like it was just the other day....i just feel like i'll be 30 before i know it and that's a scary thought haha

I hate not writing in here for a while, then writing these huge long ass updates....but i never have time to just sit and write! There's a lot going on this summer for me....but at the same time it feels like I havent done enough, and there's still so much more i want to do, even though summer's almost over :(

Wednesday, mikey and i went to the zoooooooooooooo! The Metro Toronto Zoo to be exact. Finally. We have been talking about going for such a long time, so it was really nice we got to go! It was an INCREDIBLY hot day...so that kinda sucked since we had to walk around the whole day in the sweltering heat. I got really mad and grumpy at one point...just complaining and being irrational, and we got into this fight. Now he's always going to remember our trip to the zoo as a bad time! Well, it wasnt ALL bad. We made up fairly quickly, and the rest of the day was FUN! Pictures later on :)
Afterwards, we went to eat at this cool restaurant called the Rude Bistro in downtown Oakville. I love downtown oakville, btw. So cute, fun little shops, a little center where u can chill with people without having to worry about cars going through. it was nice. and the restaurant was African themed, with dim lighting. Quite romantic haha

Thursday i worked....went to chelseas after and watched final destination 3, even though i havent even seen the first 2 lol. She went to Country Camping this weekend and wanted me to go (ummmm no haha). She just got home today. She's always got crazy stories from that place so i cant wait to hear them !

This weekend was incredibly fun. Friday me, Sam, Christine, Amanda, Steph and Kandra went to Hess. We were basically all over the place....we went to a bunch of different bars and clubs, and split up quite a few times haha. but i still had a ton of fun. Sam and I ended up at Sizzle at the end of the night, cuz her friend Ryan got us in. i looooooooooooove that place. I wasnt planning on drinking that much, but people kept buying us drinks, and not being one to pass up on free stuff haha, i got hammered before i knew it.
We parked behind the Side Bar, and upon leaving, we had to pass through the crowds of people in Hess. It's like they've never seen a car before. BARELY anyone moved it was so annoying. Even more stupid still, was that Amanda felt the need to stick her head out the window and egg people on and start swearing. Obviously this will anger drunk people, and someone we think kneed sams car as we were driving and created this huge dent in her car! WTF is wrong with people. I swear, me and sam have the worst luck with cars :(

Oh ya, we also ended up going to this guy's house in Ancaster for a bit too.....i didnt end up getting home until 4, and had to wake up nice and early to go to Toronto to shop with christine and kandra. I was surprisingly fine tho!! I felt great all day, which was good cuz it was definitely a hard core shopping spree. We went to Urban Outfitters, got myself a couple of shirts from there. Then we went down to Queen st, and i got the CUTEST boots ever! Some of you when you see them will be like, when will you ever wear them?! And while i admit, they're a little unconventional, i dont regret my purchase at all! We also went to the black market, and i managed to find a really cute tshirt! It was buy 3 for 30 bucks, so we all got 1.....kandra bought this shirt advertising some Sikh foundation in Canada....omg me and Christine could NOT stop laughing hahhaha

After Queen st, we made the long treck down to Kensington Market. We had to pass Chinatown, and that was insanity. I've never actually been there, and it felt like we were actually in another country. It also smelled like a petting zoo, which was weird since there were no animals to be seen haha. Anyway kensington was cool but we didnt have enough time to look around really. On our way back, some guy stopped me on the street, and told me he was a Ryerson fashion student and he was gonna be hosting a fashion show on August 27. He gave me his card and told me to email him HAHA. What the hell does that even mean?! did he want me to model in his show?? or was it an invitation to come watch hahah.....either way that was pretty cool. I'd love to go to a fashion show!

Anywho, that night i went to nina's to watch She's the Man! Surprised at how good that movie was! I'm glad nina's home for the week....sometimes it makes me sad that she lives far from me haha

Sunday was a realllllllllly fun time as well. Christine picked me up and we went to her house to go in her hottub. Kandra came too, and this guy mike from christines work. Her parents were away so christines sister had ppl over too. We made up this dance to daft punk's da funk song and performed it for her sister and her friends HAHAHA that was hilarious and embarassing. I made mikey pick me up so he could finally meet some of my friends, and they liked him! We did the dance for him too, which was even more embarassing but it was a good time hahah.....then i got home, slept, took a shower. my sister is so sick with strep throat, and she hasnt been out of the house in forever, so mikey came over after work and we watched pulp fiction with my brother and sister. it was a family affair.

HEY!
I am back from nina's cottage! Well, I got back on saturday, i've just been too lazy to write in here
but today i decided it was time for an update, so here it is!

Warning: this entry is extremely long, so read at your own risk

Alright let's start at the beginning shall we?
Before we left for the cottage on Saturday, i went to Toronto to pick up nina while her mom went salsa dancing. Nina's sisters Jenni and Becky were supposed to come with me so we could all go to this psychic downtown, but they didn't want to at the last minute, so I just hung out with nina and chris at their place. It was fun, we watched my teen wolff movie which FINALLY aired haha, and then a bunch of The Hills episodes on mtv. We didnt get back to
Hamilton until about 3 something, then we had to wake up at like 7 to help pack up the boat and the car.

ANYWAYSSSSS we got to Forest Rock (her cottage) sometime saturday afternoon, unpacked and stuff and did a bit of tanning. At night, we did our traditional bonding, except this time it was just me, Nina, and Michelle (as Owen and Melissa were missing, and Meghan didn't come down until monday). It was still really good tho, we brought out blankets, laid on the hill, and watched the shooting stars. Looking at the sky when your up north is amazing.....it is filled with bright little twinkling stars. so pretty

SUNDAY: During the day, we pretty much do the same things, play cards, go swimming (I actually swam to the raft by myself this year! without the aid of any floating device, HOLLA! haha), and of course tan. That night, since Michelle was off galavanting with the Americans haha, me and Nina bonded with these nice boys around the fire. A couple of years back, there was this guy Cody who came up with long blond hair, and we called him Long, cuz of, well, his long hair haha. Anyway, he wasn't up this year, but his brother Aaron was. And lo and behold, he had long blond hair this time around too! So we called him Long #2. He also brought up his friends Ryan and Dane (Davy). Long #2 definitely got the looks in his family haha...he looks like that kid with long blond hair who was in the movies Elephant and Lordz of Dogtown haha. Anyway, we hung out with them that night, and many nights after that just cuz they were funny, even tho they were only like 15 haha

MONDAY: Meghan came down! All the adults and her played Century Club, and she ended up beating them all! I was truly impressed. It was so weird, she didnt even seem that drunk hahah. Nina and I were in charge of dinner, and we made this delicious stir-fry. Everyone loved it haha :) That night, we all played some more drinking games, including Kings, and Meghan joined again! she's a champ that one haha. Needless to say, we all got pretty retarded that night, and afterwards went to hang out with the Americans and Michelles older brother Freddie, who came down with his friends that night. That night was pretty fun...we even randomly called Owen and put him on speaker phone hahah. Nina just thought of it out of the blue and we were all screaming into the phone telling him to come. he was probly like wtf? ahahha still, at least we tried to convince him to come down.

TUESDAY: It was SUCH a nice day out, so i went tubing with Meghan, Becky, Dane and Amanda on her dad's Seadoo boat (love that thing!) the Euchre tournament was later on that night, and even though I don't really know how to play, I stuck around to watch. Nina got a huge stomachache so she couldnt play anymore. Everyone was being shaded outside after the whole thing was over, so i went to check on nina. To help her feel better, her mom suggested i read out loud to her. So we read Confessions of a Shopaholic out loud, and that became our tradition up there, each one of us reading two chapters out loud to each other haha.

WED: HUGE rainstorm that lasted the whole day. It was seriosuly pouring. Me, nina, mich, and meghan practiced our rap for the talent show, and i also helped nina with her scrapbook she was making for chris' bday. at night, it cleared up, and we played cards (Spoons and asshole...the classic forest rock games haha) and also watched a bit of Wedding Crashers in Meghans cabin with Curtis and Dane. As we were getting ready for bed, we noticed Becky was just lying on the hill and didnt want to come to bed, so we offered her nina's side of the bed, and nina could go and sleep at Mich's. Becky agreed, and nina was off. I couldnt sleep for some reason, and around 4 am, I heard this like EXPLOSION of animal noises. Like birds, owls, wolves, you name it. It kinda scared me cuz it was so loud and came all of a sudden. Then after 10 minutes they just stopped abruptly, so im like whats going on? THEN i hear this eery spacey kinda music, which turned into REALLY LOUD spaceship noises. i though maybe someone was watching a movie, but these noises continued for like 20 minutes with no dialogue. I was in and out of sleep so by this point i was really getting scared. I thought there was like an actual spaceship trying to land, and thats why all the animal noises had stopped. HAHAHA. Eventually i fell asleep, and i later learned those noises were just this guy Paul who always plays random movie music and stuff from his cabin. Why he was playing it so loud in the middle of the night, i do not know

THRURS: Melissa called from alberta, and we got to talk to her so that was nice! Also, thursday was the bug talent show. Our rap was a success! Even tho we had to do it without meghan, she left that day :( Nina's mom also broke her leg, like right before the talent show was about to start. She stepped on these rocks funny, and her leg was badly broken. She had to have a cast and everything. I felt so bad, because she LOVES to dance, and now she has to wait like 6-8 weeks until she goes again :(
She didn't want to miss the talent show tho, so she waited until after it was over to go to the hospital. Afterwards, there was this huge fireworks display on the beach, and then a beach dance. Except the beach was still muddy from the storm so we had a hill dance instead haha. Fun times!

FRIDAY: Last day! Since it was uncomfortable for nina's mom to stay at the cottage with a broken leg, her parents decided we would be leaving that night, instead of saturday morning. But they said we'd leave at like 2am, so we'd have enough time to hang out with everyone one last night and say our goodbyes. We wanted to organize something big for the last day, so nina suggested a mass run into the lake! So at 5:30, like EVERYONE was lined up along the water's edge, and we all ran in and swam to the raft. Nina's dad took pictures, and I can't WAIT to get them because he's a photographer and they turned out really nice! So ya that night, CREEPINESS happened. There was this new couple that came up on Friday, and their cottage was right by the bathrooms. me nina and mich went to the bathrooms and all we could hear was the man like SCREAMING "fuck you! you dont fucking trust me!" and like slapping and punching and things being thrown against the wall. We were sooooo scared. Finally, someone got the owner of forest rock to go and talk to them, and the guy was all acting like nothing was wrong. LIAR! a couple of minutes later, the abuser came down with all his bags, saying "that bitch is psycho! she threw me out!" like trying to blame everything on the girl. haha oh man, they were the gossip of that night. Things died down after he left tho. Me nina and mich had another huge bonding talk in our cabin, and that was fun. By 2am we were all packed and ready to go, but we didnt end up actually leaving until like 5:30! The sun was coming up haha.....the rest of our time was spent hanging out with the nice boys and dane and curtis and becky and jenni, playing the weirdest/funnest card games ever! haha....all in all i had an AMAZING time, and i'm sad its over. I miss everyone so much!!!

We got home saturday around 10 in the morning, and that night i just crashed i was so tired. Sunday was my first shift at Turtle Jack's! Theyre training me on expo right now, and at first everything was so overwhelming but i think i'm kinda getting the hang of things. Everyone is so nice and friendly too, so i like it so far! I also went to mikeys after work. man i missed him soooooooooooooooooooooo much. It was great seeing him again. We hung out again last night, we went to his friend Jason's, and they tried to teach me how to play the guitar hahaha. that was a laugh.....anyway i apologize for this NOVEL!!!!!!!! i doubt anyone read this far....but i love you if you did !
